About Us

The Vintage Locomotive Society (VLS) is a non-profit organization located in the Winnipeg Capital Region, whose mission is to safely maintain and operate the Prairie Dog Central Railway vintage steam and diesel engines, associated vintage rolling stock, and rail infrastructure. VLS also owns the for-profit Prairie Rail Services Corp. to financially support vintage train operations via railcar storage, cleaning and light maintenance; track maintenance and industrial switching.
