Jay will discuss these ongoing developments in the energy sector and will provide an overview of input from industrial\, commercial and residential customers across the province about the role they would like Manitoba Hydro to play in providing them with Energy for Life today\, tomorrow and for decades to come.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\nJay moved to Manitoba and joined Manitoba Hydro as President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in February 2019.  \n\n\n\nJay is a proven leader with over 30 years of leadership and corporate management experience including at executive levels in the utility\, resource and consulting sectors. She came to Manitoba from the Northwest Territories Power Corporation where she held the position of President & CEO. Before then Jay held senior executive roles with Capstone Mining Corp\, Accenture\, Inc.\, BC Hydro\, and CIBC World Markets.\n\n\n\nShe holds both a Bachelor of Arts (honours) from the University of British Columbia as well as a master's degree in business administration\, finance from the Richard Ivey School of Business\, University of Western Ontario.\n\n\n\nAs CEO of Manitoba Hydro\, she led the utility through a deep dive into its long-term planning. This resulted in the development of Strategy 2040   a new long-range vision for Manitoba Hydro as it seeks to address the energy transition. She also led the company through the development of its recent Integrated Resource Plan.\n\n\n\nAs incoming Chair (effective Jan. 2024) of the Electricity Canada Board of Directors\, Jay shares her expertise with all Canadian electricity companies. She is also a past member of the Board of Governors\, University of British Columbia where she chaired the Finance Committee and past Chair\, Energy Division of the B.C. Children's Hospital Miracle Network.\n\n\n\nIn 2023\, she was the award recipient of Women in Infrastructure's Outstanding Leader\, and in 2019 Chatelaine Magazine named Jay as one of its' Women of the Year.
